Satu Heikkilä is award-winning alcohol ink artist living and working in Elimäki, Finland. Nature is a close and important part of her life and she finds her inspiration from nature’s beauty.
Satu’s works have been exhibited in Finland, Italy and the United States, and her paintings can be found in private collections in Europe and the USA. Through her artworks, she tries to reveal the language of passion, life and soul. Using airbrush, straws and even only her own breath she captures the movement and life of inks on paper.
Satu is best known of her bold floral paintings which appear as dreamlike images in which fiction and reality meet, meanings shift, past and present fuse. The possible seems true and the truth exists, but it has many faces. The thought processes, which is ever so private, highly subjective and unfiltered in their references to memories, are often revealed as in unison.
