HIAA IS AN ASSOCIATION OPEN TO ALL ARTISTS AND ARTISANS LIVING IN FINLAND

REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A MEMBER

You must live in Finland
You must be 18 years or older
From our artists we expect professionalism, proficiency and authenticity in their art and practices
You must provide us with portfolio including at least 4 works from past 2 years. We are accepting online portfolios if they have all the necessary information about your works

MEMBERSHIP FEE: 45€ + 10€ entrance/admin fee (paid once)

Memberships are valid from February or from the date you were accepted into the association (if later in the year), until January 31 of the following year. The entrance/administrative fee is a one-time payment made when you join the association.

The fee includes the following benefits:

Digital membership card
Membership in the Union of Finnish Art Associations
5-20% discount at Tempera Art Shop (with membership card)
15% off all art supplies at Taiteilijatarvike, Hämeentie 2, 00530 Helsinki (with membership card)
Discount on a variety of art museums
Free entrance to a variety of museums (with a Union of Finnish Art Association card)
Participation in HIAA group exhibitions, fairs, workshops, brunches, and meetups
Membership in WhatsApp chat with information about many open calls, funding opportunities, jobs in art and culture sector, etc.
Your own artist spotlight on the HIAA website
Possibility of social media and website features

MEMBERSHIP ADMISSION

HIAA admits new members three times a year. If you apply by the date listed below, your application will be reviewed and voted on by the full board at the next board meeting (indicated in brackets)

August 23rd (September)

Artist Profile (Tell us about your artistic/creative practice. What subjects and mediums do you work with? What exhibitions have you participated in? Or do art and craft markets align better with your practice? Are you part of any other artistic or artisan communities or collectives?)

The digital membership cards will become available after your application has been reviewed and approved and you have paid your annual fee.

To access your digital HIAA member card and artist union card:
- Download the Gruppo id app on your phone (Google play or App store).
- Register a new account using the name and e-mail address you provided to HIAA.
Your HIAA membership card will be available on the app.
